Ambleside Animal Hospital

The Pet Oxygen/Fire Resuscitation Mask Kit

Most people hope they never need an oxygen mask, but it sure can be nice to have one if the need arises. Dr Booth hopes to equip every firetruck on the North Shore with life-saving masks for our 4-legged friends.

Our local Firetrucks are NOT equipped with oxygen masks for pets. Dr Booth and his staff have established a NorthShore fundraiser to help raise money to purchase and donate Pet Oxygen Recovery Masks for fire crews and their trucks (administered by ScotiaBank as the Pet Oxygen Mask Fund).
  •       Dr Booth appreciates that many firefighters have tried to resuscitate a pet, only to have the animal deteriorate because the human oxygen mask did not fit the pets face and lung capacity. These masks are the most efficient way to resuscitate an animal or provide adequate oxygen when an animal is suffering from smoke inhalation.
  •         To equip the NorthShore fire & rescue units, we need to raise close to $3200.00 to purchase 24 mask kits.

  •         Our second fundraiser was April 2nd, we provided the WV SPCA with spay/neuter surgeries. NorthShore residents  sponsored a surgery for the SPCA. For every $65 raised for the Pet Oxygen Mask Fund, we spayed and neutered a cat or dog from the WV SPCA for free .
  •            You can start your own Pet Oxygen mask fundraiser! The Pet Oxygen masks were provided by McCarthy and Sons Service. Together we can equip BC Fire Trucks with proper Pet Oxygen Masks.
